Car Dealer Quick Start

From signup to your first AI-handled buyer in ~20 min

Thirteen steps. Every one maps to a real screen in your dealer dashboard or a Chrome extension. Follow them in order and you'll be fully set up before your lunch cools down.

1

Sign up as a car dealer

1 min

Create a free account with your dealership email. No credit card required.

Start at the dealer sign-up page. Use your dealership email (not a personal one) so lead notifications land in the right inbox. You'll land directly on your dealer dashboard after signup — no email verification dance.

Your account starts on the Free plan, which includes your first 2 hot leads in full. You can run the platform end-to-end without ever entering a credit card.

2

Install the two Chrome extensions

2 min

The Chatbot handles buyer replies; the Auto Lister posts your inventory to Marketplace in bulk.

GetReplyNow runs through two Chrome extensions that connect directly to your existing Facebook account. Both are free. Install both — you need them for the platform to do anything on Marketplace.

Required
💬 Chatbot

Auto-replies to every buyer on Facebook Marketplace using your settings and inventory. The moment a buyer messages, the AI answers in seconds.

📦 Auto Lister

Bulk-posts every vehicle in your inventory to Marketplace — no more clicking through Facebook's listing form car by car. Ideal for lots with 20+ vehicles.

After installing, sign into each extension with the same email you used to sign up. You'll see a green dot in the extension icon when it's connected.

3

Fill in your dealership basics

3 min

Name, phone, address, hours, and specialties. The AI uses this to answer buyer questions.

Open Settings in the dealer dashboard. The Business Info section is at the top. Fill in:

  • Dealership name — exactly as buyers know you
  • Phone number — where buyers should call if the AI hands off
  • Address — used when a buyer asks "where are you located?"
  • Business hours — so the AI can schedule visits during open times
  • Specialties & promotions — "trucks under $15k", "0% APR this month", etc.
  • Default warranty — what ships with every vehicle by default

Any field you leave blank is just something the AI won't proactively mention. Skipping the optional ones is fine — you can come back later.

4

Set your financing & credit policy

3 min

Tell the AI how to answer "can I finance this?" and "do you work with bad credit?"

This is the single most valuable section to fill in accurately. "Can I finance?" and "will you work with my credit?" are the two most common buyer questions in the conversations we've analyzed, and the AI's answers directly determine whether a buyer keeps talking or ghosts.

  • Finance application URL — paste the link you want buyers sent to
  • Minimum down payment — or leave blank if negotiable
  • Default term & APR range — helps the AI quote ballpark monthlies
  • Work with all credit? — toggle on if you run sub-prime
  • Cosigner available? — toggle for first-time buyers
  • ITIN accepted? — toggle if you work with non-SSN applicants

The trade-in and cash-payment toggles live right below. Set them the same way — default answers are "yes, evaluate in person" and "yes, cash accepted," which works for most dealers.

5

Choose your AI tone

1 min

Friendly, professional, or casual — pick the voice that matches your dealership.

Scroll down to the AI Behavior section. You'll see a tone dropdown (Friendly is the default and works for most dealers) and an "extra instructions" text box. Use extra instructions for anything rule-like:

Always mention that we offer free Carfax reports.
Never quote an out-the-door price — always direct to the finance app.
If a buyer mentions a trade-in, ask for the year, make, model, and mileage.

Keep it short and specific. The AI follows these literally, so "be professional" is less useful than "always sign off as Mike from Bayside Motors."

6

Add your CRM lead email

30 sec

Where should hot leads get emailed the moment they happen?

At the bottom of Settings, the CRM Lead Email field tells GetReplyNow where to forward every hot lead the instant it fires. Most dealers point this at their CRM's lead-capture address (VinSolutions, DealerSocket, Elead, etc.) or a shared sales inbox that rings phones on arrival.

If your CRM has a specific "parse inbound email" address format, use that. Otherwise a simple leads@your-dealership.com works fine.

7

Upload your inventory

5 min

CSV, XLSX, or an automated FTP feed from your DMS. Pick whichever is easier.

Go to Inventory in the sidebar. You have two options:

Option A
CSV / XLSX upload

Drag and drop a spreadsheet export from your DMS. The uploader will walk you through mapping columns the first time — Year, Make, Model, Price, VIN, etc. Mapping is saved, so next upload is one click.

Option B
Automated FTP feed

We provision a dedicated FTP account for your dealership, and your DMS pushes inventory on a schedule. Zero manual re-uploads. If your DMS supports vAuto, HomeNet, or any standard inventory feed, this is the right choice.

Start with a CSV upload if you're just testing. Flip to FTP once you're sure you want to run this in production — it takes about 10 minutes and we'll email you the credentials once provisioning is done.

8

Wait for listing generation

5–15 min

The AI writes Facebook Marketplace-ready listings for every vehicle automatically.

Once your inventory is uploaded, GetReplyNow generates a buyer-facing listing for every vehicle — title, description, highlighted features, asking price. You don't need to write anything. For a 50-car lot, expect all listings ready within 10–15 minutes.

You can refresh the Inventory page to watch statuses flip from "Processing" to "Ready." Once a vehicle is Ready, the AI can field questions about it the moment a buyer messages.

9

Post your listings to Marketplace with Auto Lister

10–30 min (hands-off)

The Auto Lister extension pushes every "Ready" vehicle to Facebook Marketplace for you. You just click start.

Open Facebook in Chrome and click the Auto Lister extension icon in your toolbar. Sign in with the same email as your dealer account — the extension pulls your "Ready" vehicles from your dashboard automatically.

Click Start Posting. The extension opens Marketplace's "Create new listing" page and fills it in for each vehicle — photos, price, description, category — then hits publish and moves to the next one. You can leave the tab open and walk away.

Rough pace: about 1 vehicle per 20-30 seconds. A 50-car lot finishes in under 30 minutes. If Facebook shows a CAPTCHA, the extension pauses — solve it once and it resumes where it left off.

10

Test the AI in Test Chat

2 min

Pretend to be a buyer. Make sure the answers match how you would actually reply.

Open Test Chat in the sidebar. This simulates a real buyer conversation using your exact settings and inventory — nothing is sent to Facebook. Try the questions you hear most:

  • "Is this still available?"
  • "What's the lowest you'll take?"
  • "Can I finance with a 580 credit score?"
  • "I have a 2015 Civic to trade, what's it worth?"
  • "Can I come see it tomorrow at 2pm?"

If any answer feels off, go back to Settings and adjust your extra instructions or financing fields. The AI will pick up changes on the next test message — no restart needed.

11

Connect Google Calendar (optional but recommended)

2 min

Let buyers book test drives directly into your calendar. This is one of two triggers for a hot lead.

Back in Settings, scroll to the Google Calendarsection and click Connect. You'll be sent through a standard Google OAuth flow. Pick the calendar you want test drives to land in.

Once connected, when a buyer says something like "can I come Tuesday at 3?", the AI checks your availability, offers the slot, and writes the event directly to your calendar. A booked slot fires a hot lead — you get the email push and it shows up in your Leads tab.

If you don't connect Calendar, the AI will still capture phone numbers as hot leads. But Calendar bookings are the highest-intent signal we have, and you'll leave money on the table without it.

12

Turn on the Chatbot to go live

30 sec

Flip the Chatbot extension to ON. From this moment, every buyer message on Marketplace gets auto-replied.

Open Facebook Messenger in Chrome and click the Chatbot extension icon. You'll see a big toggle at the top — flip it to ON. That's it. The AI is now handling every new buyer message using the settings, financing policy, and inventory you configured.

Keep the Messenger tab open in Chrome while you want auto-reply running. You can minimize it — it doesn't need to be the active tab. The extension icon turns green when it's connected and actively listening.

Want to take a break? Flip the toggle to OFF. You can also pause individual conversations from the Messenger thread itself if you want to jump in manually.

13

Watch your first lead and upgrade when ready

Ongoing

Free plan covers your first 2 hot leads. Upgrade to $99/mo + $20/lead when you see the value.

Every time a buyer leaves a phone number or books a test drive, a row appears in Leads with the buyer's name, phone, and the vehicle they asked about. The same info is pushed to your CRM email the instant it happens.

Your first 2 hot leads are completely free — full buyer details, full CRM push, nothing held back. After that, new leads show up locked in the dashboard with an "Upgrade to unlock" button. If you've seen the AI handle real buyers for you and want to keep going, head to Billing and start the Dealer Plan: $99 per month flat plus $20 per hot lead we deliver. No contract, cancel anytime from the same page.

Stuck on something?

The AI is saying the wrong thing

Go back to Settings and be more specific in your extra instructions. The AI follows literal rules better than vague preferences — "always offer free Carfax" beats "be helpful." Save, then retry in Test Chat.

My inventory upload failed

Most CSV failures are column headers that don't map to a known field. The uploader will flag the row — fix the header (for example rename "Stock#" to "Stock Number") or use the column mapping screen to point it manually.

I connected Calendar but bookings aren't appearing

Check that you picked the correct calendar during OAuth — many dealerships have several. Reconnect in Settings and select the one that's actually on your phone. Test it by asking the AI to book a slot in Test Chat.
